Mr. Ram Mohan Rao is an experienced banking and inclusive finance professional with more than 30 years of working experience. He holds a Masters Degree from Osmania University, (Hyderabad, India) and is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Banking& Financial Inclusion – 23 years of operational and managerial experience in banking (1987 to 2010), covering all major areas of banking- rural & agricultural banking, MSME lending, retail finance, branch management, treasury operations, micro finance, and financial inclusion. Out of this, 20 years is with State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest commercial bank, and 3 years with Krishna Bhima Samruddhi Local Area Bank (KBSLAB), an erstwhile BASIX SEG company and one of the very few Indian banks with financial inclusion as a core business model.
Project Management & Consulting (2011 to 2017)–6 years’ of multi country experience in Global Financial Inclusion Programmes supporting expanding access to finance to rural and unbanked areas – MicroLead Programme of United Nations Capital Development Fund(UNCDF) in Bhutan, Timor Leste, Ethiopia & Cameroon and African Livelihoods Partnerships (ALPS) programme of SDC in Mozambique.
Experience in all stages of the projects – project design, diagnostic assessment of partnering financial institutions, designing of technical assistance programme for building the institutional capacity, providing technical assistance and handholding support in implementing improved products, processes and delivery channels.
